Exclusive new skincare line now available at Marshall Health

We took a moment to talk to Trish McCarty, aesthetician, to find out more about the exclusive new skincare line available at Marshall Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Who developed the new skincare line?

Our doctors and I worked with a lab to customize these unique products. These products will not be found online, at department stores or anywhere else.  These are sold only in our office.

Why did you decide to create the new line?

One of my personal reasons for wanting to get another skincare line is because it is very difficult to find an acne product that works.  Unfortunately, many skincare products dry out the skin too much. This causes the skin to have an overproduction of sebum (oil), which then causes even more breakouts for many patients.  To help reduce the potential for irritation, we have products that contain green tea polyphenols, which is the highest and purest form of green tea available. Green tea polyphenols are very calming for the skin and help in reducing inflammation and erythema that are very common with acne.

What can you tell us about the products?

We wanted safe products but effective ones. Our standards were high when we were choosing ingredients.   We wanted to cater to those who are sensitive to gluten.  We also wanted products that were paraben free.  By customizing our own skin care line, we are able to stand behind its quality.

Marshall’s exclusive skin care line offers products designed to treat acne as well as the effects of aging:

Benzoyl 5% wash is one of our acne patient’s favorite cleansers. It is soap-free, fragrance free, oil free, and it effectively cleanses and treats acne prone skin without over drying or irritating the skin. This is an excellent and affordable option for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.

Glycolic 20% pads are convenient and easy to use for the person on the go. They promote smoother skin by gently exfoliating, revealing brighter skin, moisturizing and assisting in the removal of oils and residue in between washes.  These are suitable for all skin types and ages.

Green tea scrub is a non-comedogenic product that gently removes dry, dead skin cells along with excess oils and residue to reveal healthier, younger looking skin. Many patients are recommended to exfoliate 2-3 times per week to keep the pores clear and allow the skin to have a more even tone and texture. This product is suitable for all skin types.

Ultra hydrating serum is a must have in your skin care regimen. This serum is made up of hyaluronic acid (HA), which is known for its ability to bind over 1,000 times its weight in water. As we age, our natural levels of HA decreases, which compromises our skin barrier and causes visible signs of aging. Our ultra-hydrating serum addresses these signs by delivering various molecular weights of HA to ensure continuous and optimal skin hydration. Our HA serum aides the skin in repairing itself and in turn increasing the efficacy of other topical treatments. This product is recommended for all skin types.

Triple antioxidant cream is calming and soothing for the skin. It visibly reduces the appearance of redness, fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness and pore size. There are three powerful antioxidants in this product: 90% green tea polyphenols, resveratrol and caffeine. This product is recommended for all skin types, especially those with sensitive skin, post-procedures and acne patients.

Our retinol eye cream does everything! This eye cream helps to smooth fine lines and wrinkles while also minimizing dark circles and puffiness. It also increases firmness and elasticity. This product is recommended for all skin types.

Our ultra lite face cream has become a staff favorite at Marshall Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.  It is lightweight and feels very soft on your skin. It protects against free radical damage and is very nourishing for the skin. This cream is oil and fragrance free, and is suitable for all skin types.  Many of our patients who complain of oily skin find this to be a very good balancing moisturizer.
